About Beth Wolfgram, MS, RD, CD, CSSD, CSCS

I’m a board-certified specialist in sports dietetics and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. I use my extensive knowledge of evidence-based science—and my personal experience as an endurance athlete—to develop sports nutrition programming to meet your needs.

Fueling Your Performance was started in 2017 to provide performance nutrition services to athletes and active individuals through one-on-one coaching and team education sessions. I also work with teams, clubs, and athletic departments to help develop strategies that improve their athletes’ performance and overall health.

As the Sports Dietitian for Dartmouth College. I partner with the athletes and coaches for 35 teams to improve performance and recovery.

I love outdoor activities, travelling with my family, participating in triathlons, fresh hot bread, roasted Brussel sprouts, good coffee, and chocolate! I recently completed my first IronMan distance triathlon in Lake Placid, July 2022.

Beth Wolfgram rock climbing, outdoor enthusiast

I was the Director of Sports Nutrition at the University of Utah, where I coordinated performance nutrition for over 500 student-athletes and oversaw an athlete-dining hall, two fueling stations, and the sports nutrition staff.

For 16 years, I was the consultant sports dietitian for the Utah Jazz NBA team, and have worked with Bowdoin College, Bates College, and various high schools in both Maine and Utah.

I also had the honor of serving on the Board of Directors for Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietetics Associations (CPSDA) for four years, and I currently co-manage the Sports Nutrition Immersion Program (SNIP) Fellowship.

Nutrition can be the competitive edge that you need!

Fuel your performance and build a healthy relationship with food

Sports nutrition is a science and an art. I am passionate about helping athletes fuel their bodies with purpose.

I love helping athletes fuel for performance, optimize recovery and develop a healthy relationship with food - to build lifelong healthy habits.

Food is nourishment - for our body and our mind. It should be enjoyed and savored.

When working with athletes, I strive to listen and understand their needs. Understanding an athlete’s sports and unique challenges is vital to helping them achieve their goals.

Testimonials

Our family has worked with Beth for over 20 years as a registered dietitian and personal trainer.

Most recently strength training to prepare for a Grand Canyon rim-to-rim hike. Over the years Beth has worked with our family on nutrition, and with both me and my daughters on strength training. In addition, she has helped with rehab for and ACL tear and hip replacement.

Beth personalizes her services to the individual; she helps you achieve your personal goals with positive support and no judgement. Beth also follows up with me after our sessions to see how I am doing – that is going the extra mile!

Beth is positive, addresses the goals and needs of the individual and helps you build from your starting point, no matter where that is. She gets to know the person, provides motivation that speaks to the individual, and knows her stuff!

Most recently I have been working with Beth on strength training over the past 5 weeks. I am amazed by how much stronger and more capable I feel. Over the past year, COVID, and a hip replacement have caused me to feel "not strong". Beth has improved my strength and conditioning which has also helped my mental attitude and belief in myself. I have noticed a marked improvement in my abilities to hike greater distances, elevation gain, and enjoy the experience.

Beth is positive, supportive, and provides individual attention. She is also great fun to work with and treats everyone with kindness!

Beth and I worked TOGETHER on finding more flexibility in my fueling. She always did a great job of guiding me, personalizing her recommendations, and listening to my concerns.

My goal when I started working with Beth was to learn how to fuel myself properly again. As a retired athlete struggling with an eating disorder, Beth seemed liked the perfect fit since she understood the mindset of athletes and is an excellent example of how to find a balanced “all foods fit” mentality—learning how to have a healthy relationship with food, and learning how to fuel and respect my body even though not being an active athlete anymore.

Beth makes you feel validated. She never tells you what to do but is a companion on your journey to find the best way to fuel YOUR body.

I was able to find a healthier relationship with food and my body. This allows me to enjoy my everyday life more and more, as well as feeling more energized throughout my day.

Beth is not only a very knowledgeable dietitian, but a great human being to work with!

Beth has worked with our student athletes both in person and virtually, providing short-term information for an event and educational material for athletes to take away from the event.  Our athletes appreciate the simplicity and flexibility of Beth's message.

Nutrition can sound like chemistry to some, Beth breaks the complexities down and provides flexible options, so it is easy for the athletes to put healthy eating into practice.

Professionally, I feel more confident sitting with our athletes in follow up sessions discussing their goals around nutrition and performance after listening to Beth and learning about her "Three Plate Plan."  Thanks Beth!

I have worked with Beth for proper fueling for training, talking about the appropriate snacks and meals before big games/races, as well as talking about the right balance with food to maintain a healthy relationship and lifestyle.

With Beth my goal was to make sure that I was prioritizing my eating in order to get the best possible outcome as an athlete. I wanted to fuel properly, so that I would build muscle and perform well. I also wanted to establish a healthier relationship with food, not labeling food as good or bad, but rather fuel for my body. Beth gave me the confidence to change my habits, and she always helped me fuel well in order to make me the best athlete possible.

Beth always welcomed me with a warm smile and love. I always felt noticed, appreciated, and remembered. Not only did Beth remember what our goals were for a specific time, she also remembered specific information about my life which made me feel important to her, instead of just another patient. She always asked about my family and personal life, which deepened our connection and enabled me to trust her from the onset.

With Beth I have been able to maintain a healthy relationship with food, which has made me a better athlete. She had helped me with meal plans, snack guides, and what to eat before races. She has made me a stronger athlete both physically and mentally and I am forever grateful for that. Not only has she taught me to fuel my body, but she has also prepared me mentally for all phases of my life. I LOVE Beth and cannot say enough good things about her.

I always smile when I see a text from Beth with a little sun emoji asking me how my most recent race or day has been. She has gone out of her way to make sure that I feel like she is a part of my life, aside from just helping me with food. Beth is truly a ray of sunshine who is helpful and knowledgeable in many areas of athletic training and life. I would recommend her to any person. Thank you for all that you do!

Beth was an outstanding partner for our student-athletes and coaches, providing contemporary nutrition, fueling, and performance advice on both an individual and team basis. Beth helped move our department forward in the ways we needed to support the nutritional needs of our athletes.

We are incredibly grateful for the support Beth provided to our athletic department and the overall health and well-being of our student-athletes. Beth has a wonderful way of conveying complex nutrition, performance, and recovery information in an easy-to-understand format that provides student-athletes and coaches with the material they need to make informed decisions.

I wanted to achieve/find someone who could provide the level of training, experience, and understanding that we needed as we navigated the nutritional and fitness needs of my daughter – and at the same time was easy to work with. We are very fortunate to have found Beth!

I interacted with Beth as I consulted with her regarding the nutritional and fitness needs of my teenage daughter. This involved phone calls and Zoom meetings as we set up goals and objectives that we wanted to accomplish. This also involved follow up emails to questions we had as well as regular progress reports. Beth made it very easy to touch base if we had questions or concerns. She easily established rapport with my daughter. Beth interacts well with other members of the team and adds valuable insight. It is easy to trust her, and her advanced clinical skills are very apparent.

The services from Beth stood out in that she is very knowledgeable about nutrition and fitness but is also able to apply her education and experience in a way that is very relatable. You can trust the recommendations and advice that Beth offers.

Beth has helped us achieve a greater understanding of the balance between proper nutrition and fitness. As well as how recovery is a critical step in fueling optimal performance. Finding that healthy relationship with food has been difficult, but Beth has worked well with my daughter to get her on the right path and working towards her goals.

Beth is very knowledgeable and experienced in helping find the right balance of fitness, nutritional, and performance plans for your individual goals. I highly recommend her!

As parents of a high-performing collegiate athlete, working with Beth has been invaluable for our son to enable him to gain weight, maintain it, and maximize his performance.

Her depth and breadth of enterprise coupled with a plan that could be implemented and followed by a college athlete has been a game changer for our son. Beth is professional and extremely knowledgeable.

I'm an endurance athlete in my mid-fifties. After many miles and years of hard work I was beginning to literally fall apart physically, mentally, and emotionally due to neglecting proper nutrition.

I began to become fearful of what my future wellness would be. To look at me, most would have thought I was in amazing condition and health, however I knew that inside I was becoming unhealthy, and changes needed to be made. After consulting with several elite athletes, I turned to Beth Wolfgram. What a blessing. She has been so incredibly helpful and helped me begin to turn my lifestyle around. Beth is incredibly well rounded, knowledgeable and resourceful. She plain and simply knows her stuff. She also brings a unique and sincere patience, support and understanding quality that's unlike any professional I've ever dealt with. She cares and it's genuine. I am not an easy client to say the least. My issues are deep rooted and have been difficult to change. Beth has not, for one moment, been judgmental and has been the epitome of supportive. That, combined with her many qualities, give me the ability to fully trust her, and that is invaluable to me.

I wanted to be able to feel good on my rides and do everything that I needed to do and be fueled in the right way. I love that Beth made me feel like I have a say in my nutrition.

She helped me find a good balance in my diet. Beth helped me be able to feel good during my rides and races. She also helped me feel good after my rides making sure I was getting enough fuel into my body at all times. I love that Beth has an open line of communication. I also love how she explains how things work in my body and how the food I put into my body will affect it to help me have a better understanding.

Beth is currently working with my daughter who plays soccer at a high level, and has recently had some challenges with an eating disorder.

I wanted to work with a professional who not only was knowledgeable about eating disorder recovery, but was also experienced working with elite athletes; someone who understand the different nutritional demands of these athletes. Beth has significant experience working with athletes and is currently a long-distance athlete herself. This kind of experience and insight allows her to have a unique and credible perspective; ensuring that my daughter is getting enough nutrition, not only to continue to recover from her eating disorder, but to also thrive in soccer. Beth is great to work with, incredibly responsive, and very knowledgeable. I really feel as though she understands the unique challenges of athletes and works with them to allow them to keep playing their sport so long as it is healthy and in their emotional, mental and physical well-being. She gets it.
